A pivotal role that sits between our Client Success and Development teams, this individual contributor position is responsible for maintaining, improving and operating a highly efficient production system to deliver a consistent flow of high-quality work, delivered on time.

Reporting to: Managing Director

 

Manage Resource Planning, Prioritisation

  • Schedule and monitor timely delivery of all technical production work, including code and infrastructure deployments, upgrades and integrations.
  • Triage incoming work tickets from various projects and prioritise them within the development and QA queues, updating daily to respond to changes in resource and business needs.
  • Maintain an understanding of resource allocations, who is on what jobs, and when they are going to be free for new work allocations.
  • Maintain active communication to department leads on progress updates, risks and requirements.
  • Monitor long running work items and report on status, highlighting risks and delays.
  • Plan for foreseeable resource-utilisation events such as upgrades and patches and planned annual leave.
  • React to the impact of urgent situations, outages, security alerts, staff-sickness, allocating resources and re-prioritisation accordingly.

Manage the Technical Specifications Process

  • Own the technical specification process and standards
  • Coordinate technical staff creating specs for certain complex production items, such as client integrations.
  • Quality check specifications are fully filled out prior to being ready for production
  • Collaborate with Client Project Managers to confirm data mappings and other supporting materials are complete and attached to specifications.

Process Optimisation, Transformation & Performance Analysis

  • Responsible for continuous improvement of our delivery process.
  • Design and update processes, systems and work collateral within shared development and QA environments, such as work templates.
  • Assess, research and implement production tooling options, managing migrations and upgrades.
  • Identify and lead internal development projects to deliver production and performance optimisations.
  • Collaborate with project and technical team leads to understand resource availability and gaps across personnel, process and tooling.
  • Collaborate with product and commercial leads to standardise production deliverables to reduce cost of production and increase throughput.
  • Monitor production performance across a variety of KPIs covering throughput, on-time delivery and quality.
  • Identify and report process breakdowns and areas of improvement, training requirements back to team leads to communicate to their personnel.
  • Arrange and deliver procedure training via materials and in-person to new starters, and refresher courses as required.
  • Monitor inefficiencies caused by excessive context switching and implement mitigation strategies

  • Ability to balance competing interests when taking a holistic view to creating changes, combined with the ability to bring stakeholders together to support the change.
  • Talented communicator able to mediate department priorities, educate procedures, and calmly convey challenges in a positive resolution-oriented manner.
  • Technically proficient, able to reason about and write/review moderately-complex technical requirements.
  • Analytical skills to assess and report on required KPIs as well as forecast deliverables.
