The third Mentoring Professionals Conference took place at the University of Roehampton in London on 12-13 April 2018, and was another roaring success in a magnificent venue.

The MPC is an exclusive, two day conference that brings together online and offline mentoring professionals from across the sector in the UK and Europe. The 2018 conference was made up of 64 professionals from Alumni Relations, Development, Careers, and HR departments across 38 higher education institutions and 2 business schools.

Year on year, mentoring is still very much a strong source of engagement with alumni, volunteers, employers, students and even prospective students, and continues to prove significant impacts on people’s lives and in helping to achieve institutional objectives.

The two days were made up of expert presentations, interactive sessions and open-floor discussions and a networking evening with drinks and dinner at Grove House, a stunning Grade II listed Georgian mansion in south-west London. The range of interesting topics discussed ranged from the mentoring ecosystem,  launching and marketing mentoring schemes, international programmes, the art of mentor matching, managing resources, internal cooperation, and avoiding toxic mentoring.

With an inspiring leadership keynote and loads of knowledge sharing, everyone at MPC is a mentor.

A report compiling the wealth of information, tips and advice shared by practising mentoring professionals will be made available for viewing soon. Watch this space!
